Favorite teacher was my 10 grade biology teacher – he always had jam sessions in class 10 minutes before the bell!

There is no way possible to choose just one.
    So here it goes….
Keith and Nell Griggs-(parents and educators as well)-I would be no where without their continued encouragement and guidance
Miss Williams-Kindergarten-Awesome first experience of school!
Miss Whitener-4th grade teacher, This is a hard year for me to forget especially when I had to stay in at recess everyday until I learned my multiplication facts!
Mrs. Allran-6h grade-A fun year at the old West school. Does anyone else remember that baseball game we played with grammar rules?
Lester Jenkins-Jr. High Algebra teacher-Oh how I hated math but I learned more about him as a person the summer he tutored some of us and it helped me know that he cared about how the students did in his class.
John Powell-HS Biology 1 teacher-This is when I knew my life calling!
Priscilla Helms-HS Biology 2 teacher-WOW! She loved teaching Biology as much as I loved Biology and the dissecting that went along with it.
Mardell Scronce-HS Geometry and Algebra teacher-I don’t know how I ever passed her classes since I was horrible in Math but somehow she encouraged me and said that I was a hardworker to the point that I believed I could do it and made it through by the skin of my teeth.
Jacque McGinnis-HS French teacher-We were required to speak French from day 1 in her classroom and to this day due to that I can still speak French.
Mary Price-coworker and elementary teacher-An awesome example of one who loves each and ever student and works so many hours that I don’t know how she has a life outside school. She is a model of inspiration to me as I see her reach every student!
Barbara Burkett-College Biology professor-An interesting and different twist was put on learning Biology during this semester and many others after it.
Tony Eastman-College History professor-Why in the world did I take him for a class. I had heard that he was hard. Boy, was he ever. He knew his material and loved teaching it and wanted his students to understand the importance of it as well. I will never forget the day I walked out of his exam without writing anything on my paper and he tracked me down and had me come back and take the exam orally later. Man, that showed me he really cared!
Dr. Bookout-College Education professor-She always encouraged me after having been told I needed to change majors by another professor, huge mistake that I listened to them and didn’t follow my dream, but she helped me move forward on another path.

My favorite teacher should be plural. There was Mrs. Briarly who encouraged independence and to believe in yourself. Then there was Mrs. Glenn who had a heart of gold and cared about her students whether they were at school or off the school grounds. Mrs. Durham was full of smiles and made English a pleasant subject to take with her every day. I salute these wonderful teachers who made a lifelong impression for the better.

  • I must admit that I did have some great teachers growing up who influenced me and impacted my educational success, but the teacher I most admire to this day and try to emulate will always be my Mother. She was the best teacher of life that I could ever hope for.
