My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Mr. Cavaness, who infused music into everything we did. He showed us movies that inspired us to be better people and accepting of others who are different from us. I learned more than just math and language arts that year, and that’s what a teacher should aspire to do. He made me want to be a teacher, and I have been one for the past 13 years.

I shared the giveaway on Facebook.

my favorite teacher was in 5th grade, Mrs Colley. she was nice and interesting to learn from her. I was so sad when I was going to be going into the 6th grade, I knew I would miss her so much. then when school started we all found out she was our teacher for another year, she had moved up to the 6th grade too!

This is a hard question because there are so many amazing teachers. I would have to say that one of my favorite teachers to work with is Julie Piskie. She is constantly working her hardest to get her students everything that they need. I am blessed to know her and learn from her!

  • I am a teacher now, and my favorite teacher is the reason I became an English teacher! I will never forget Mrs. Nickels because she was always warm, a bit sarcastic, knowledgeable, totally NOT fake, and determined to teach us values as well as the content. She made us think outside of the box by using ideas that were new, engaging, and meaningful. I still have many of the booklets our classes made in her class…books of poetry, stories, and memories! She also helped us prepare for college and the real world. I loved her!

My favorite teacher is my son’s teacher, Mrs. Lorenz. She’s a dedicated servant of God. She is not paid but she’s there every day, in rain, sleet or snow. She teaches the love of Jesus Christ to her students and serves with a smile. I’ve shared this on Facebook!

I am a teacher. I have many favorite students, but one in particular stands out. He came from a very impoverished family but was always the first to share or help out. When he has snack he would offer half of it to those who didn’t. He was always the first to offer to help me or another student. He taught me a lot. Shared on facebook

My favorite teacher was my high school algebra teacher Mrs. Minzenmeyer. She is the reason I am a math teacher today. I teach in a title 1 urban school where many of my students do not start school with all the supplies they need. If I were to win this would be a great thing for my class 🙂

  • My favorite student was a second grader named Chauncy. He was awesome but simply did not know it. He wrote “F” on every assignment he turned in. Finally on the last Science test, he wrote “A”, and drew a happy face. He had earned it. I kept in touch with his grandmother for years.

My favorite teacher was my 4-6th grade teacher, Mr. Hanft. He made learning fun and knew how to deal with the boys. 😉 A very close second would have to be Mr. Horridge, my jr. high and high school math and physical science teacher. He threw us Bugs Bunny parties! He also taught in a very fun and down to earth way that we all, smart or not so, could understand. Shared on facebook. And thanks to Karla for the shout out! You, too, are a blessing!

I have had a lot of favorite teachers within my life time that have all inspired me to become a teacher today. The biggest reason they were my favorites is because they put up bulletin boards, but seriously. It took me TWO hours to put up two bulletin boards in my classroom last week. TWO. Who would have thought?! (Push pins are not as stable as they look.)

Most of my favorite teachers were in elementary school. I may have had one or two from middle school on. My senior year in college I found a new favorite teacher. A teacher who reminded me of all of my favorite teachers from elementary school. Her name is Joan Joseph. She was my university supervisor for student teaching. Joan had this sense about her that made her feel like home. What I mean by that is like I said before, she reminded me of all the teachers I had in elementary school which triggered the good memories and love I had for school. Joan was always available just to listen if you needed someone to talk to. I sent her multiple emails when I was feeling overwhelmed and we walked through it together. On the flip side I could send her an email about something funny that happened that day and it was like I could feel her laughing with me. If I needed help it was never a bother to Joan. She could help me and not only could she but she wanted to. When she walked in the door she was always smiling. Always. I’m fairly certain she even smiled in her sleep she is just that happy of a person. I’m not much of a hugger but every time I saw her I just wanted to give her a big ole’ hug. She held high expectations but she also let us know we were in it together. She wanted all of her students to succeed. Towards the end of the school year she sent us updates as soon as a job nearby posted. She continued doing this even in the summer when we were no longer her students. When searching for my job she would check on me and see how I was doing. After finding out I didn’t get the job I first interviewed for I talked to her. She said , “Natasha, I am SO proud of you. Getting an interview is the hardest part.” This woman really is an angel in disguise and has shown me the characteristics of a great teacher, the teacher I hope to be.
